Oh–and homestudy approved. I think we are just waiting on USCIS approval…
Interesting searches that have led others to me this week:
‘baby chimpanzees for adoption’–I know absolutely nothing about this, I don’t really think it’s a great idea thought
‘things to do with under twos’–where to start…hey, I got one-Let them watch Wonderpets!!!
’stressed out over birthday party’–This one sort of stressed me out. Supergirl’s b-day is just a few weeks away, and I am definitely NOT stressed out about it…Should I be?
‘well holy hell’–I agree
‘why is adopting a baby so expensive’–heck if I know…
‘being ripped off in an adoption process’–thank goodness I know nothing about this!
‘a baby getting picked up by a tornado’–or this, except I used to live in Oklahoma and I very destinctly remember a story about this after the big tornado in OKC
‘wonderpets cow’ ‘wonderpets kitten’ ‘wonderpets unicorn’ ‘wonderpets party’–
Apparently I am pretty popular with the wonderpets crowd right now.
AAI got our homestudy. It is being ‘reviewed and approved’ and then is on its way to Ethiopia!!!!
SG: (after drinking a half bottle of water): All better mommy…
Me: You’re all better?
SG: No. Just a second. (starts drinking more water)
Upon hearing our dog Jackson whining:
SG: You hear that mommy? Jackson crying.
Me: You’re right, Jackson is crying.
SG: Yes. (thinks) Jackson needs a binky!
While driving in the car:
SG: Helicopter!! Helicopter, mommy!!
ME: Yes, there is a helicopter, I see it.
SG: Helicopter goes sky. Airplane goes sky, too. Helicopter and airplane goes in sky…
ME: Wow, you’re right. Helicopters and airplanes both go in the sky. What else goes in the sky?
SG: Helicopters and airplanes…
ME: Yes, but does anything else? Where do birds go?
SG: (looking at me like I am stupid) Birds go birdhouse.
Conversation with a random 18-month-old baby girl (who is quite a bit shorter than Supergirl–because she is a GIANT!) who is pointing at Supergirl:
Baby Girl: Baby!!!
SG: I NOT a baby!
Happy Day Bling:
Happy Day Balloons:
We took cookies to the fire station (that always makes them happy), we bought a cake (that makes Daddy-O happy), and balloons (Supergirl—very happy), and at the end of the day I got the coolest happy day present ever:
A J-Mac Bobblehead!!! J-Mac, you ask, who is that? Well, I was not sure either, but this will help remind you…
Not only is it a J-Mac Bobblehead, but it is an AUTOGRAPHED J-Mac Bobblehead.
Jealous, I thought so…
Tomorrow is Happy Day. If you are not familiar with Happy Day let me enlighten you. This is our own family holiday. We have declared it ourselves, and it has been practiced since we were married (5 years now). Happy Day is rich in history and tradition, but maybe I will share more about that next year. For this year let’s just focus on the basic premise of Happy Day. To Be Happy! And to help others be happy. The best way to do this is to make them smile. It is hard, although possible, to smile without being happy. One easy way to do this is give strangers a very enthusiastic, “Hi how are you today?” Every stranger. (It is ok if they are laughing at you, that is still happiness)
Here is a little pre-Happy Day exercise. I have to thank Chookooloonks for this video: Where the Hell is Matt?. Nothing like a guy dancing like a maniac around the world to make you smile! I especially had to smile at the reactions of those around him (especially the kids in Rwanda).
So, tomorrow, I expect you to participate (at least in a small way) in Happy Day. Please make at least a few people smile (notice I said more than one–I have high expections of you). And tomorrow night please report back on how your first Happy Day went. I just hope it is happy!
A few days ago Daddy-O showed me this. I keep finding myself thinking about it. Interestingly enough, it is not the drunk driving that is bothering me, it is the car he was driving… A 95 Saturn! Are you serious? Is it just me, or does this not add up? Isn’t Haley Joel Osment a movie star, rich, loaded, successful? Why is he driving this car? Has he lost all his money, are his parent’s keeping it from him? Now, I understand and fully support the idea of not spending money just because you have it…but, seriously? A 95 Saturn? Can’t he at least have a post-2000 Saturn?
I am so confused…
