Things to do before I am FREE for the summer:

Finish class—check!
Finish internship—4 weeks left (20 work days) and I MAY not have to go the last week
Finish portfolio—halfway there–plan to finish this week
Find a job—okay, so I’m beginning to think this won’t be done before summer, but that would be nice!

Lunch Break April 21, 2008

Just stuff…

We are still having aftershocks from Friday morning’s earthquake.  We felt one last night a little after midnight.  Fun…  The kids still have not noticed one.

This morning as I was putting stuff in my bag to leave for work, Supergirl (who gets up early to have breakfast with me before I leave—we found this has helped tremendously with the separation stuff we were dealing with earlier this semester) asked what I was doing.  I replied “I am….” She answered “protesting?”  What, I asked.  She repeated “you are protesting.”  I cracked up.  Perhaps I was, by packing VERY slowly protesting the fact I had to leave for work.  I’m pretty sure that’s not what she meant and have NO idea where she learned that word.  But it was funny.

Supergirl will be going to the four-year-old class at her school next year, even though she has the late birthday.  Yay!  We were very worried about this and her teacher agreed that she would be very very bored in the 3-year-old class.  Much much more on the private school vs public school and general school stuff we have going on now later…

Boomer is a talking machine now.  He is so funny.  He will definitely try to repeat anything you say.  I don’t even know how many words he knows, but it is a lot!  Many I know only we can understand, but I can definitely hear the difference.  He is also starting to speak sentences (that only he can understand) which is really funny.  He loves to sing baa baa black sheep and twinkle twinkle.  The tune is there, the words need some work.

We are going outside more finally.  Which is definitely helping everyone’s sanity.  We stayed outside as many waking hours as possible yesterday.  Supergirl drew chalk pictures with the neighbor girls and Boomer just ran.  And loved on the dogs, he really loves them :)

Earthquake April 19, 2008

Yesterday morning I experienced my very first earthquake.  It woke Daddy-O and I both up at around 4:30am.  We both bolted out of bed only to stand there and stare at each other wondering what was happening.  I ran into Supergirl’s room (neither kid woke up) and realized I had no idea what I was doing.  It was over before we had even figured out what was going on.

Crazy :)

Randomness April 7, 2008

Filed under: Kids — findingbabyg @ 8:23 pm

Just some random stuff:

I was at my in-laws house this weekend and we (by that I mean they) managed to break TWO Rockband game discs.   Note to self, never move an XBox when the disc is spinning.  Other note to self, Rockband is awesome.

Today at dinner Supergirl informed me that a boy had asked her to be his girlfriend at school today.  I was rinsing the dishes and nearly dropped my plate in the sink.   She told me that she said yes and that he had been looking for a girlfriend all day.

Boomer is now Harry Potter.  He proudly displays a lightning bolt tattoo on his forehead (courtesy of my nephew over the weekend).  Although it is supposed to be temporary it is showing no signs of coming off anytime soon.

Supergirl managed to paint her toenails, her face, and part of her carpet with toenail polish during her naptime.    She also told us she tried to color her hair green with the colored hairspray from halloween but she couldn’t get the lid off.  She also put some Easter grass up her nose.  This caused a lot of sneezing for awhile.  Despite some serious effort we could not get it out.  However, she’s not sneezing anymore  so it must be better…  Right?

8 weeks to go! April 6, 2008

I passed my certification exam.  Yay!  I also did much better on my second test in my class (I was not very happy with my first test, but they changed the format for the second).  So…  Just one more test and one paper for class, and 8 weeks of practicum, and finish my portfolio.  Then sweet summer here I come!!!!!!!!!

Also, I have been trying to think of a new name for this blog but have been unable to come up with anything so far.  Open to suggestions.  And just a heads up in case you show up one day and it is different.

It’s time for a change…
