Tornado February 11, 2009
My brother is a firefighter in Oklahoma and yesterday watched a tornado from the backdoor of the firestation. He was then out all night (and most likely still is) assisting with the recovery. He sent us this picture. I thought it was worth sharing…

Until my parent’s next court date. It sounds like everything is a go this time, but you never know. Please keep them (and a certain little boy in Ethiopia) in your thoughts and prayers… Third time is a charm, right?

So today I put my new coupon strategies to the test (thanks to couponmom.com)… Didn’t do too great at the grocery store, due to just starting and not having “stocked up” on anything yet-nothing I needed was on sale. And I am still a sucker when it comes to impulse buys
However, I kicked butt at Walgreen’s!! I got $81.89 worth of merchandise (that I will actually use) and only spent $22.73!
I was feeling so frugal I got myself one of these for lunch (the chicken queso one) only to find out they were having a special on all chicken entree’s.
I think I’ll take the rest of the day off
This week’s lessons… February 6, 2009
They say you learn something new everyday. I think this is true and thought it might be interesting to start keeping track. I introduce to you “This week’s lessons…”–just a little sample of what I am learning. I will do my best to take a note each day and compile them each week. While some lessons are perhaps something I already knew, they are occasionally retaught through experience.. Since I am starting on Thursday it looks like I will be posting every Thursday
Thursday: shoveling snow is a very good workout.
Friday: you can get a fax number through Office Depot that will send and receive faxes through your email
Saturday: Travis Pastrana is crazy.
Sunday: Making finger foods for preschoolers and toddlers is a waste of time–just throw out some hot dogs and macaroni and cheese and everybody is happy.
Monday: godaddy.com is a good web hosting site.
Tuesday:couponmom.com is handy
Wednesday: we’re getting a good tax refund YAY
